Growing up in a family that runs Beatles conventions for a living is exactly as trippy as it sounds. Ever since 1974 when my daddy got John Lennon’s personal blessing to throw Beatlefest (now we just call it FEST), it’s been a joyous Beatles celebration for thousands of fans around the world—and my favorite weekends of the year. I am The Blonde Lapidos Daughter In The Catalogue You’ve Known Since I’m “This Big!” and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
However, it wasn’t until recent years that I truly learned what loving The Beatles meant. Or do I even know yet The deeper I dive into my spiritual journey, the more I connect to their message of peace, love, oneness and silliness. I practice Transcendental Meditation with my sister in their footsteps, I listen to Beatles music pretty much daily, and as FEST social media director, I learn something new every time I post. Also, Beatles songs are some of my favorite to sing and dance to.
Here is where I will share my thoughts on all things Beatles—from their songs to their story to their dashing good looks. In addition, I’ll bring you behind the scenes of FEST as we gear up for 2014, the big Beatles 50th anniversary year kicking off in NYC at the Grand Hyatt on 42nd Street Feb 7, 8, 9. FABMANIA (Beatlemania for the next generation, invented by me) will ensue… just you wait. Come together, right now, over me!
And yes, of course I was named after the song.
